Who is your favorite quarterback of all-time?Ī: My favorite quarterback right now would have to be Donovan (McNabb), but I think that I pattern my game a little bit after Michael Vick. Q: If you could go back and change anything during your time at Villanova, what would it be?Ī: I would change our win-loss record, but sometimes moral victories are just as important. I made unbelievable connections with the faculty as well, so I wouldn't trade these five years for anything in the world. I have made some great friends, whether they were players, coaches or the rest of the students. The option is obviously hard to stop, but when you combine it with the passing attack, it makes it that much more difficult to handle. Q: Which offense (more running or more passing) do you like better?Ī: I would say the offense at Villanova because it is a little bit of both. ![]() You maybe even say it's the funniest joke ever. Q: What was the adjustment like coming from a high school program that ran the ball a majority of the time to Villanova, where the passing game is an important part of the offense?Ī: I think my high school career has helped me at Villanova because early in my college days, the offensive line was not a strong point of the team. I spent a lot of time in meetings with the team and I think that has helped my play on the field this year. I took every experience from it that I could by watching the team from a coach's point of view. Q: How did the time off last year with your injury affect you as a player? Did it help you?Ī: It was an obvious disappointment, just watching the team suffer the way they did last year. All you can do is try your best everyday and hope that it is good enough. I am looking forward to making a name for myself and leaving it behind. Q: What are you most proud of during your time at Villanova?Ī: I think what everybody is the most proud of is their legacy. Our goal is to keep showing improvement to the end of the year. Q: Over the final two games, what are the team's goals or what are you guys trying to accomplish?Ī: Starting off the season 0-3 was a disappointment so we are just trying to get Villanova back to where it needs to be, a prestigious program on the 1-AA level. ![]() Burroughs, who after nine games has completed 141-of-237 for 1,727 yards and nine touchdowns, sat down with Villanova Media Relations Assistant Nathan Wiechers for a question and answer session. ![]() Villanova senior quarterback Marvin Burroughs has two games left in his Villanova career. It seemed to have a slightly stronger magnetic grip when used on the naked iPhone 14 Pro, but particularly when I added the iPhone 14 Pro Leather Case, its grip felt a little tenuous. The design flaws in the Encased iPhone 14 Pro Clearback Case with TPU Wallet prevented me from telling whether I might like a MagSafe wallet, and I figured that Apple’s was likely to be among the best. I’ve continued to pay attention to the wallet case space, so I was curious how Apple’s iPhone Leather Wallet with MagSafe worked, especially when paired with Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Leather Case with MagSafe. 1 case customized with an Electric Sheep screenshot It is plastic, so that’s not problematic, but I’m partial to both the leather feel of the Bellroy case and its smooth exterior. The closest I can come to criticism is that the case looks and feels a little plasticky. The buttons are more responsive than with the iPhone 13 Pro’s Bellroy case as well. I could store some cash with the cards, but since I use cash so infrequently, I prefer to keep a couple of twenties inside the case. 1 case I ordered has worked very well, holding three or four cards easily. MagSafe WalletĪfter getting a new iPhone 14 Pro, I’ve been researching wallet cases (see “ Three Wallet Cases: Bellroy, Encased, and Smartish,” 26 September 2022). I would consider it if something happened to my Apple Watch Series 5 or my Garmin Forerunner 645, but given the extra battery life from Low Power Mode, that may be another year or two (see “ watchOS 9’s Low Power Mode Could Extend Older Apple Watch Lifespans,” 10 October 2022). Apple did a good job making all previous models of the Apple Watch accessible to people of all sizes, but the Ultra has a more rarified audience.Īnd no, I didn’t buy one. Unless you have an obviously large wrist, I strongly recommend visiting an Apple Store to try on an Apple Watch Ultra with the different bands before buying one. I’m sure you could become accustomed to the other two bands, but I didn’t like them. The Ocean Band and the Alpine Loop were actively awkward to put on and adjust, whereas the Trail Loop’s infinite adjustment and hook-and-loop attachment approach made it by far the most compelling. Apple sells three bands with the Apple Watch Ultra: the Ocean Band, the Alpine Loop, and the Trail Loop. ![]() However, when Tonya tried on the Ultra, it looked ridiculous on her significantly thinner wrist, and she could fit a finger in the gap formed by how it extended beyond the flat part of her wrist. Neither weight nor thickness was an issue. After strapping it on, my initial response was that the Ultra is indeed large and chunky, but not so much so that it felt ungainly. I knew it was notably larger than the 40mm Apple Watch Series 5 that I currently wear, but I couldn’t determine how it would feel on my wrist (see “ Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra Expand Health, Safety, and Connectivity Features,” 7 September 2022). The trigger for our Apple Store visit was the Apple Watch Ultra. These are very much first impressions, but they changed some of my previous opinions. We weren’t planning on buying anything immediately, but I wanted to get a sense of the physicality of some recent (and not-so-recent) releases. But Tonya and I were in Rochester for a cross-country race last weekend, so we took the opportunity to swing by the Apple Eastview store to check out various products we haven’t yet seen in person. Between the distance and my general desire to avoid mingling indoors with random people due to COVID worries (proved correct on our ill-fated trip to Greece), I haven’t been to an Apple Store since before the pandemic. For me, however, living in Ithaca, NY (where a common bumper sticker reads, “Centrally Isolated”), the closest Apple Store is an hour away in Syracuse, with the second closest almost two hours away near Rochester. Donkeys are stubborn as the result of self preservation. An ass is another word for donkey, of course, but the name is less common because of its negative connotations. There is a connection, however, between the words ‘jackass’ and ‘stubborn’. It’s not clear if there is connection between burrata and burro. B urro is the Spanish word for feral donkeys. She is usually pregnant for 11-14 months (poor thing) and generally carries just one foal. Mules, on the other hand, come from a jack and a mare. A female is called a jenny, a male is called a jack. Here are the results: A donkey is a product of the union between two donkeys. What? How are donkeys made then? It’s all so embarrassing, but I needed wikipedia to set us straight. A family member, who missed the dinner, explained that it couldn’t have been donkey cheese. The next morning, as we reflected on the meal, we wondered how we had overlooked the donkey as a source of dairy. Just discrete flavour from an innocuous mound of white. As Nigel said, it was so very delicate in flavour, but also unimaginable. The cheese had a yielding outer shell, almost like a soft boiled egg white, designed to protect the creamy middle. Then the burrata arrived – a lush ball of cream flecked with pepper and nestled within tomato puree, caper berries and a swirl of bright green basil oil. Our cava, with a tiny hint of pink, popped against this palate. The paper thin flatbread, drizzled with warm, milky blue cheese and olive oil, was white. We assumed there was a problem in translation, took a sip of cava, and said, why not. Tonight’s burrata, however, was especially special because it’s made from donkey’s milk – ‘so very delicate, but unimaginable’. Then, perhaps we’d like to follow with a favourite of his? Burrata, Nigel explained, is a fresh, soft, Italian cheese made from scraps of buffalo mozzarella and cream. Nigel, our sensual French waiter, highly recommended we start with a shared plate to ‘pull us togezer’, and a local Xarel-lo, ‘where you can taste the Catalonian sun, hard work and passion’ in every sip. We were sipping cava and feeling fresh and dewy – the perfect setting to introduce donkey cheese, the surprise hit of the night. The evening air was warm, but every so often, as if on cue, a fine Arizona-like landscaping mist would spray over us from a raincloud above.
